March 11, 2021 marked the 5 Year Anniversary of Flatbush Zombies’ debut studio album 3001: A Laced Odyssey.

To celebrate this milestone, FBZ and Copycats Media worked together to deliver a completely custom re-release of the 2016 gem that everyone loved. This pre-order was available online for only 72 hours, so whatever was bought within that window is what ended up getting pressed.

The limited edition physical packaging includes: 

• The Double LP on “Cotton Candy Splash” 140 gram Colored Vinyl
• A special mylar slip cover that was hit 3 times with a pink PMS tone
• Specialty numbered jackets specific to this pressing, black foil stamped
• “The Eye” black foil stamped on the jacket cover
• A Limited Edition 12 panel 24″ x 36″ movie style poster insert
• Printed inner sleeves

We asked their manager a couple questions about the process:

CC: What was it like working with Copycats again?
Josh: Copycats always deliver the goods. Literally. From start to finish, we map out a product that is one of a kind for the fans. There’s no greater feeling than holding a work of art in your hands, and that’s what we set out to do with each release. Copycats will stop at nothing to make sure we deliver something special and timeless.

CC: Why were certain elements chosen for this 5 year release?
Josh: With this being a special occasion (5 year anniversary party), we wanted to reimagine the packaging to fit the celebratory vibe. The mylar cover really makes it feel like this is an important re-release. The specialty numbered jackets also give it a feeling of being part of a collective that only a certain number of people can say they belong to. And the foil is the cherry on top!

CC: What is FBZ’s favorite piece of this release?
Josh: The hand poured cotton candy vinyl!
